I was visiting Seattle and was on the ferry back from Bainbridge Island. The wind and travel direction were just right to cause the railing of the outdoor deck to flute and whistle! Although by the lack of the reactions of those around me, perhaps it was not so rare. In a few spots, it was actually musical.
Paddling and shortly hanging out under the HW1 bridge that traverses the mouth of Elkhorn Slough. The sounds of cars and trucks barreling overhead are accompanied by birds and aquatic mammals.
A walk through Aare Gorge in Switzerland, starting in the wide section and making the way through the narrows. If anything, be sure to watch that second half. Watching the video with headphones is recommended.
Most evenings at 8 o’clock, this rural Swiss church would play it’s bells for up to ten minutes (after the eight chimes for the hour). This recording includes the hour mark and the 6 hours of continued ringing that followed. Recorded from a distance in the Interlaken area.
Three tunnels and part of the scenic hike of the Iron Goat Trail in Washington state. Enjoy echoing tunnels and a walk through a mountain forest past a small waterfall. Binaural audio, headphones recommended for full immersion.
The ending of the hike down to Second Beach on the Olympic Peninsula. It was a foggy day with a pleasant temperature.
It’s my first real attempt at a binaural field recording creating 3D sound immersion with a accompanying camera. Headphones (and a screen) highly recommended.
